Trump-backed incumbent. Scott Perry wins re-election in PA-10
Republican Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry is expected to win his re-election bid against Democratic challenger Janelle Stelson in the state’s 10th Congressional District.
Perry has served as a member of the Pennsylvania congress since 2013, and currently represents the state’s 10th District, which includes the state capital, Harrisburg, and Dauphin County as well as parts of Cumberland and York Counties.
The race for state seats has heated up recently as much of the attention has been on the presidential and Keystone State Senate races.

Perry, who has been repeatedly endorsed by former President Trump throughout his career, is a former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and has campaigned on issues such as ending illegal immigration following the “Biden-Harris Administration’s dangerous, and dangerous, failed border policies,” independence of American power, protecting women’s sports and inflation following “the Left’s spending spree.”

Perry confronted Stelson, who had been a broadcast reporter for decades in the Harrisburg area. A few days before the election, the Democratic challenger gathered endorsements from former Republican House members who worked with Perry. Former Rep. Barbara Comstock, Adam Kinzinger, Denver Riggleman, Dave Trott and Joe Walsh threw their support behind Stelson last week and formed the “Republican for Janelle” group.

Stelson has campaigned on issues such as protecting access to abortion following the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, to hire more border agents to better secure the border, and lower the cost of living for Pennsylvanians.
The two traded barbs during a debate last month, with Perry praising legislation he supported under the Trump administration that made the cost of living cheaper for voters.
“I voted for the biggest tax cut in history, it gives people in this state and across the country, in Pennsylvania, more money in their pockets,” he said. “When I was in Congress four years ago, when President Trump was there, wages were the highest they had been since the Carter administration.”

Meanwhile, Stelson is focused on raising the minimum wage.
“Pennsylvania has a minimum wage of $7.25 an hour,” she said. “All the states around us, it’s almost double. West Virginia has a higher rate than that, and the cost of living is much less.”

Political eyes are closed in Pennsylvania as voters in the Keystone State are considered to be the most likely to decide the outcome of the state election. Trump narrowly won the state in 2016 when he successfully campaigned against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but lost the state in 2020 against President Biden.
The Senate race between longtime Democratic Sen. Dave McCormick and Republican challenger Dave McCormick has also drawn more attention to the state as the GOP looks to turn that seat red.
