Ruben Amorim Leaves CP Sports On A High Note

Lisbon, Portugal – In his last game as manager of Sporting CP, Ruben Amorim led his side to a thrilling 4-2 win over Braga on Saturday. The 39-year-old coach is about to take over as the new manager of Manchester United.

Amorim’s time at Sporting has been incredibly successful. He guided the club to its first Portuguese league title in 19 years in 2021, then delivered another championship the following season. Under his guidance, Sporting will start the campaign with 11 wins.

Sunday’s game with Braga he bade farewell to the Amorites. After falling behind 2-0 at half-time, he made some meaningful changes to Sporting’s game in the second half. Goals from Morita, Hjulmand and Harder completed the comeback, with the latter scoring twice in the final minutes to clinch the win.

“This is Ruben Amorim,” said the Portuguese broadcaster Of course. “The boy has luck and knowledge. He is leaving but everyone is with him.”

Amorim has now been tasked with reviving Manchester United, who currently sit 13th in the Premier League. He will come with a talented coaching staff, including assistant managers Emanuel Ferro, Adelio Candido and Carlos Fernandes.

Despite his youth and lack of experience, Amorim has proven himself to be a competent and inspirational manager. Sports fans were sad to see him go, but believe he is ready for the challenge of returning United to its former glory.
