Burton, 54, recalled his last moments and long-term expenses on the Friday, November 1, episode of his podcast “Daily Drama.”
“I was so confused that I wasn’t sure how I was going to play this,” said the actor. “Obviously we have a great history. Obviously we’ve been working together for a long time, so all these things were going on, but I didn’t have a clear vision.”
Burton, who plays Jason Morgan on the ABC soap, first shared the screen with Monaco, 48, in 2003, when he made his series debut as Sam McCall, and the two actors had a long-running romance before calling it quits. good. News broke in August, however, that Monaco will be leaving the show and his final episode – where Sam was killed – aired earlier this month.
Burton and Monaco filmed a scene together at the hospital, with Jason saying goodbye to Sam before he died. “I had to shoot those things with him first and then go back,” Burton recalled on his podcast.
In his reminiscence, “It was very sad because obviously Kelly was leaving, and then there was a feeling of a passing character and all these things, and I thought that everyone really did a good job,” he continued, adding, “It was really fun. to get all that feeling out and then have to go back. I know film people do this all the time, but as an actor, it’s not something you like to do.”
Burton’s expenses Maurice Benardwho portrays Sonny Corinthos, gave Burton some helpful advice before the cameras rolled.
“You don’t have to force anything,” Benard told Burton. “Let it work.”
He advises that “whatever happens there must happen” and be in the present.
While Monaco was playing General Hospital 11 years, Us Weekly he confirmed earlier this year that he would be from a long-running series. At the end of September, in Monaco he talked about his departure in a since-deleted Instagram comment on the Soap Hub post after one user called the actress “monotone, she had no main roles and was boring.”
‘No important role’.. do your homework,” replied Monaco. “When Billy Miller was fired, Sam’s story ended. Stripping Sam of all the features he had. Something I’ve worked for decades to build… I’m breaking him down a little bit, making him a character I can’t see, let alone the audience. Call it what you will… get revenge on it [sic] very good. I will give a proper statement. The truth will set you free.”
General Hospital airs weekdays at 2 pm Eastern Time.
