Dax Shepard Asks Cynthia Erivo About Her Fingernail Wiping Habits
Everyone wants to know the same thing Cynthia Erivo‘s long nails.
I They are not bad star, who sported talon nails while promoting this new fantasy music, was asked by Dax Shepard how she used the bathroom with her super long fingernails during an interview on the Monday, November 18, episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast. And, well, it turns out, he’s not the only one who’s curious.
“Can I ask you a really crazy inappropriate question?” Shepard, 49, asked the UK-born actor.
Erivo, 37, invited Shepard to continue with his list of questions, but he quickly saw where things were headed.
“When you wipe your butt—” the podcast host began to say before Erivo interjected, “I knew you were going to ask that question. Everyone asks that question!”
“Nobody just uses their fingers to wipe their behind. You use tissue. OK? And wipe,” Erivo explained his way to the bathroom.
“Does the tissue go into the nails?” Shepard then asked. “Finger pads,” replied Erivo.
Shepard inquired if Erivo ever felt a “bite” on the back because of her claws. “No, because the muscles are there,” he said.
Shepard asked Erivo if he was offended by the question. The Oscar nominee admitted that he was “offended” by the question.
“I say, ‘Come on, guys.’ But I get it. But it’s also like, I’m a working adult and I’ve never walked around smelling like that, you know…” Erivo said. “People are brave. People are like, ‘How do you do something with those nails?’ I’m like, ‘I mean, I’m here. I’m dressed.’”
Erivo’s manicure was a highlight They are not bad press tour and match the magic of the new movie. Erivo plays opposite Elphaba Ariana Grande like Glinda. The two became best friends while rehearsing and recording They are not bad in London in 2022.

For his part, Erivo said of Grande, “I don’t know if you know it, but you definitely changed my life. I think it was one of the first times that someone looked at me and was happy with what was there. I was telling him about what I wanted from me as a singer and he just believed, I thought more than I did. I don’t think it was until I met him that I was like, ‘Oh, I think I can have what I want in this life, and I can get it my way.'”
