Drew Barrymore Is Center Square in New Hollywood Squares: First Photo
Drew Barrymore takes center stage in the upcoming reboot of Hollywood Squares.
In Us WeeklyIn his special appearance, Barrymore, 49, was photographed inside the famous arena on the set of the game show. Barrymore, wearing a silk blouse with ivory buttons and a matching tie, stands behind a golden podium with his name engraved on the front.
Barrymore is one of the many celebrity panelists on the reimagined version of Hollywood Squares, hosted by sportscaster Nate Burleson. In addition to Barrymore in the middle position, other squares will be taken Tyra Banks, Julie Bowen, Yvette Nicole Brown, Whitney Cummings, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Tiffany Haddish, Oliver Hudson, Pete Holmes, Gabriel Iglesias, Jo Koy, Jay Leno, Justin Long, Kevin Nealon, RuPaul, Andrew Rannells, Kristen Schaal, Defeat Insult Comic Dog, Sheryl Underwood again Jimmy O. Hollywood Squares first aired from 1966 to 1980, it featured contestants playing a game of tic-tac-toe for a chance to win cash and prizes. Each square on the game board is occupied by a different celebrity, who answers questions asked by the players. The contestant must decide which star gave the correct answer.
The game was hosted by Peter Marshall and actor Paul Lynde in the central square. The previous reboot was handled by John Davidson from 1986 to 1989 again Tom Bergeron from 1998 to 2004.
Barrymore’s participation in the latest iteration was confirmed in January.
“Drew is already a part of our CBS family,” the president of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach said during a news conference. “He is attractive, he is dating, he will bring his friends under the squares. We think this will be a great ten o’clock show for us. Now we have some solid Wednesday night games to bridge the gap A survivor the seasons.”

He added, “It gives us a great sense of relief. … This is the nicest, coziest, best gift for every showman that gets to stay. And a lot of these jobs don’t date and there are no guarantees, so this isn’t like, ‘Oh yeah!’ It’s like, ‘Oh, thank you!’ This is a gift and a privilege that I do not take lightly.”
Hollywood Squares debuts on CBS on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 8 pm ET and will air on Wednesdays at 10 pm ET beginning January 29, 2025.
