Son of Norwegian princess accused of second rape – National

Just two days after being arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse, the eldest son of Princess Mette-Marit of Norway is accused of rape for the second time.
At the Oslo district court this week, police prosecutor Andreas Kruszewski asked that Marius Borg Høiby, 27, be kept in custody for two more weeks as another rape allegation was reported.
“The reason for this request is that we discovered another case of rape last night and this morning. This was identified in the investigation report,” Oslo police said in a statement sent to CNN on Thursday.
“The case concerns sex, not sex, with a woman who could not resist this act. This means that we are now investigating two cases of rape involving Marius Borg Høiby.”
The judge in this case decided that this member of the Norwegian royal family should spend one week in custody.

“Marius is facing serious charges, which the police and the courts will deal with… I’m sure they will do a good job,” Prince Haakon, heir to the throne and Borg Høiby’s stepfather, told public broadcaster NRK before the arrest order.

“We as a family and parents were very worried that Marius should get help.”
Earlier this week, Oslo police announced that Borg Høiby was arrested on Monday on suspicion of rape, after expanding the charges against him.
In a statement issued on November 19, translated into English, the authorities said that he was arrested on suspicion of violating the criminal law “relating to having sex with an unconscious person or for other reasons that cannot withstand this act.”
“The police can say about rape that it involves a sexual act without having sex. The victim is said to have been unable to resist this act,” he continued.

NRK reports that Borg Høiby has pleaded not guilty to both rape allegations.
In addition to the latest charges, three months ago he was also charged with “intimate relationship abuse,” violating a restraining order and driving without a valid driver’s license, police said in a Tuesday press release.
According to the information provided by the police, Borg Høiby was arrested on August 4, after an incident in the Oslo apartment of the woman he was in love with. The police said they found a knife stuck in one of the walls of the woman’s bedroom and she is suspected of hurting her.
He apologized for the events that led to his arrest in August in a statement he sent to NRK at the time, blaming it on “alcohol and cocaine intoxication after an argument” and “many mental illnesses” for which he planned to “begin treatment.”
The following month he was arrested for breaching a restraining order.
Police said when he was arrested on Monday, he was in a car with August’s accuser. They clarified that Monday’s case is the prosecution of a different incident.
The latest in a long line of scandals and allegations of mistreatment of women by Borg Høiby; He was previously charged with assaulting two ex-girlfriends, and threatening a man’s life.
