Falcons, Crazy Raccoon advance to the finals of the Overwatch Champions Series

The Falcons and Crazy Raccoon teams each recorded record sweeps on Saturday to advance to the top bracket of the Overwatch Champions Series 2024 Finals in Stockholm.

Team Falcons recorded a 3-0 decision against NTMR after a 2-0 win over Ilios, a 2-1 win over Shambali Monastery and a 3-2 win over King’s Row.

Crazy Raccoon dispatched the Toronto Defiant with the same final score, courtesy of a 2-0 win over Ilios, a 5-1 win over Hanaoka and a 3-2 win over King’s Row.

Toronto Defiant bounced back and defeated Twisted Minds and NRG Shock to advance to the lower bracket finals.

Eight teams qualified for the championship event, which was formatted in a double-elimination bracket. After Friday’s first best-of-three quarterfinals, the rest of the tournament will be played over five rounds leading up to Sunday’s best-of-seven final.

The prize pool is TBD, as it is funded by a quarter of the revenue from in-game cosmetic purchases.

On Saturday, Toronto Defiant recorded a 3-2 win over Twisted Minds. Defiant picked up a 2-1 win over Ilios, a 1-0 win over Watchpoint: Gibraltar and a 3-1 win over New Junk City to boost Twisted Minds, who posted a 4-3 win over King’s Row and win 128.2m-128.19. in Runasapi.

Defiant had an easy time of it against NRG Shock, earning a 3-0 sweep after a 2-1 win over Ilios and 3-1 wins over both Suravasa and Shambali Monastery.

NRG Shock advanced to that match with a sweep of NTMR, courtesy of a 2-1 win over Oasis, a 1-0 win over Circuit Royal and a 3-1 win over New Junk City.

The tournament will continue on Sunday with three matches:
