Ricki Lake Launches Cannabis Brand Called ‘Ricki Lake & Bake’
Ricki Lake enters the cannabis industry.
The former daytime talk show host announced the launch of “Ricki Lake & Bake” on Monday, December 3, a product partnership with California company Stone Road Farms.
“Obviously, I believe in this drug, and in the Stone Road brand and what they’ve built,” said Lake, 56, in a press release. “It’s very relevant to where I’m at in my life, and I’m very happy to bring this out.”
One bag of “Ricki Lake & Bake” contains half a portion of Stone Road Farms’ “solventless bubble hash,” which is grown on the company’s 57-acre farm in Nevada City. California, according to the release. Each bag is sealed with a “custom Ricki sticker, making it a collector’s item.”
Lex Corwinfounder and CEO of Stone Road Farms, also called it “a tribute to his incredible work and his long-standing advocacy of marijuana.” He was inspired to work with Lake after visiting his home in Malibu and learning that he doesn’t just eat marijuana — he grows it, too.
Lake made her big screen debut playing Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 comedy Hairspray and rose to fame hosting his own eponymous talk show from 1993 to 2004. After that Ricki Lake finished, released a documentary, Birth Businessabout being born at home, and competed Dancing with the Stars. In 2018, he presented another documentary, Mix Peoplewhich tested marijuana as a treatment for childhood cancer. He has since launched a health podcast, “High Life with Ricki Lake.”
October, Lake entered Instagram posting a funny clip of him struggling to film something after his “funny gummy” stepped in, and on a serious note, revealed his involvement in the upcoming production. The Midlife Monologuesis scheduled to hit the stage in New York and Los Angeles early next year.
Earlier this year, Lake showed off her 30-pound weight loss via Instagram with two pictures together wearing the same skirt for 13 different years. He posted again photo carousel recounting his journey to small bodywhich began in October 2023, writing, “I feel amazing. I feel strong.”
Lake’s husband, Ross Burninghamand lost over 30 pounds. (Two tie the knot (January 2022 almost one year after their wedding.)
“I want to participate, because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical company. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) But neither of us had diabetes and we both felt that we wanted to at least try to do it ourselves,” he wrote at the time.
Lake admitted that at her age – “and going through menopause” – she was “a bit worried” that her body wouldn’t shrink like it had before. “I’m very proud of us,” he added.
