Teddi Mellencamp Shoots Her Gun With Kevin Costner
Teddy Mellencamp set his eye on it Kevin Costner following his breakup with Edwin Arroyave.
During a November episode of the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast, producer Tamra Judge joked that Mellencamp, 43, is “free” with Costner. “Kevin, if you’re listening, my Instagram name is @teddimellencamp,” Mellencamp said.
After Page Six published an article with quotes in November, Mellencamp took to her social media to respond to the article.
“I will eat Yellowstone if K. Costner reading Page Six…” Mellencamp wrote on Instagram on Monday, December 2, alongside a poignant selfie. (Costner has been single since his divorce Christine Baumgartner in 2023.)
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced on Nov. 2 that she is filing for divorce from Arroyave after 13 years of marriage.
“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Mellencamp wrote at the time. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken for their privacy and health throughout this new chapter.”
“Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from unnecessary speculation and rumours, I felt comfortable, being honest and vulnerable was the best way forward,” he continued.
According to court documents obtained by Us WeeklyMellencamp set the date of her separation from Arroyave as October 20. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation and initially requested only physical and legal custody of their children. (Mellencamp and Arroyave share Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4.)
Arroyave filed her answer to the divorce later that month, listing their separation date as November 1 and asking for joint legal and physical custody of their children. (Arroyave is also the father of Isabella’s daughter from a previous relationship.) In the following court documents obtained by UsMellencamp filed for joint physical and legal custody of their children.
Us confirmed later that month that Mellencamp had an affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schroedermonths before filing for divorce from Arroyave.
“Simon and Teddi had an affair a few months ago, but it just didn’t work out,” the source said. Ussaying that Arroyave had also been unfaithful.
“Teddi and Edwin have been working on their marriage issues, despite her previous misunderstandings,” the source said. “They stay married because of the children. Teddi doesn’t excuse his behavior, but this was the first and only time he strayed outside of marriage and says there are two sides to the story. Both are guilty.”
Mellencamp continued to talk about her story with Schroeder in an Instagram post on November 24. “The only person who can change your life is you. We have 2 options, make yourself a victim or stand up and fight for yourself. We all deserve peace and happiness,” Teddi wrote. “I have already cried. I have taken responsibility and apologized for the things I have done. Now, I have given myself permission to grow and prosper.”
“There are 3 sides to every story. How can I stand up and show the important people?” he continued. “This is called an adult. This is what my full chest says.”
In the comments section of his post, Mellencamp denied speculation that he had an affair with Schoreder when his wife gave birth. He wrote, “No. It’s not fair.”
Arroyave spoke about the divorce for the first time on November 27. “I’m doing as well as he would, preparing for the holidays and focusing on the things I can’t control and everything else. it reveals itself as it finds itself,” Arroyave said in an episode of the iHeartRadio podcast “The Eds”. “But I’ve always been very focused on what you can control, and all the other things you can’t control, leave it to God. And that’s what gives you peace.”
“I think that when you try to control things that you can’t control, that’s when you rob yourself of inner peace,” he continued. “So I’ve been serious about that part and staying in faith and focusing on the kids and things like that.”
Arroyave shared that “it’s obviously hard times” before saying, “We’re doing what we always do, which is you keep pushing forward. Life is going to throw you curveballs and you have to keep pushing and things have a way of always showing up in time.”
