Florida man trying to buy crack on Craigslist busted by undercover cop who responded to ad
A Florida man was arrested after his Craigslist post looking for crack was answered by an undercover detective.
The suspect, identified as Anthony Mata, wrote in his post: “New to the area, looking for ice or crack,” the County Sheriff’s Office said, according to Fox 13.
The investigator pretended to be a seller of these items, answered the ad and arranged a meeting with Mata.

Mata negotiated the purchase of an “eight ball” of methamphetamine for $80.
After concluding the agreement, the investigator met with Mata at the agreed place.

But when the suspect and the undercover investigator exchanged money for the drugs, other deputies took action and arrested Mata.
Mata was charged with purchasing methamphetamine and illegally using a two-way communication device.

His colleague, Stephen Hornsby, was arrested for being the principal when methamphetamine was bought.
