The wife of the CEO of Slain UnitedHealthcare, the company’s manager remained silent after the murder

The bereaved wife and partner of Brian Thompson, the CEO of the major insurance company UnitedHealthcare, who was killed after several incidents of death threats, spoke a few hours after the incident happened this morning.

“We are saddened to hear of the senseless killing of our beloved Brian,” Paulette Thompson wrote in a statement to Fox News Digital. “Brian was an incredibly loving, generous, talented man who lived life to the fullest and touched many lives.”

“More importantly, Brian was an incredibly loving father to our two sons and will be greatly missed,” he continued. “We appreciate your well wishes and ask for complete privacy as our family goes through this difficult time.”

WHO WAS BRIAN THOMPSON, UNITEDHEALTHCARE CEO?

In a video posted by the health care company’s employees and obtained by Fox Business, parent company UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty said Thompson was “a truly amazing person who touched the lives of so many people throughout our organization and beyond.”

“It’s a terrible tragedy, and I know we’re still in shock and disbelief,” said Witty. “Our hearts go out to his family… Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and be sure to be there. I hope you all do the same for each other as we all grieve together at this terrible time.”

Thompson is survived by his wife Paulette “Pauley” Thompson, 51, and their two children. They lived together in the family’s $1.5 million home in Maple Grove, Minn., according to the Daily Mail.

The company canceled the remaining investor day following the incident.

“We are dealing with a very serious health situation with one of our team members, and because of that, I’m afraid we will have to end the event today,” said Witty.

Fox Business previously reported that Thompson recently received death threats.

“There have been some threats,” Thompson’s wife told NBC News. “Actually, I don’t know, lack [health care] spread? I don’t know the details. I just know that he said that someone was threatening him.”

He added that the police indicated that it was clearly a “premeditated attack” and told NBC, “I can’t give a rational answer right now. I just found this out and I’m trying to comfort my children.”

Thompson was shot in the chest outside the Hilton Hotel on 6th Avenue at 6:46 a.m. and was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the New York Police Department. No one has been arrested, the investigation is ongoing.

At the moment, the search is on for the suspect. The NYPD is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the suspect fled on a Citi Bike with a GPS system and was last seen in Central Park on Center Drive.

Citi Bike is a subsidiary of ride-sharing company Lyft. A Lyft spokesperson told FOX Business, “We stand ready to assist law enforcement with this investigation.”
