Rookie Spinoff In the Works at ABC
The Rookie the universe is united by the second output of the works, Us Weekly can confirm.
Lionsgate Television and 20th Television are in early development on the spinoff series at ABC and the show will be written by. The Rookie the creator Alexi Hawley.
The spinoff will be set in Washington state and will follow a male police officer entering a new chapter in his life. The premise is consistent with the concept of the OG series, which also focuses on midlife transitions Nathan FillionJohn Nolan’s John Nolan changes jobs and joins as an older rookie in the LAPD.

The OG series, which premiered in 2018, is based on the true story of Norcross, who was a real LAPD officer and joined the department in his 40s after moving to Los Angeles in 2015.
This is the second conclusion of this The Rookie franchise, previously introduced The Rookie: Feds. The series premiered in September 2022 and followed FBI agents but was canceled by ABC after one season.

As fans await the premiere of season 7, the star Eric Winterwho plays Tim Bradford, only told Us in October that viewers should be ready for a big “everything”.
“It’s more action, more comedy,” he teased Us. “The numbers are always high and you will learn more about all of us even more.”
At the end of season 6, Tim ended his relationship with Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) — but Busika said he expects “a lot of twists and turns” next season.
“It’s been one of my favorite seasons, to be honest,” he said Us. “We are already a character-driven process. It’s all about us. But I feel like every year we get more and more into these characters.”
He praised Hawley for listening to audience feedback and creating a “great story” for Tim and Lucy.
“It also ebbs and flows in the heat for a long time,” he added. “So it is difficult to do what they expect because it is their child in a way. But we’re getting there and I think they’re going to love it. I think they will like where we are going.”
The Rookie season 7 premieres on ABC on Tuesday, January 7, at 10 pm ET.
