The conference championship weekend was filled with drama, highlights, and plenty of individual highlights.
In Colorado Get out Travis Hunter continues to dominate the Heisman leaderboard, even if Colorado doesn’t play this weekend. Meanwhile, Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty had another outstanding game this weekend, rushing for 209 yards and a touchdown while leading the Broncos to the Mountain West championship.
Both Hunter and Jeanty have significant leads Oregonn QB Dillon Gabriel, who also had an impressive outing in Oregon’s win over Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Here’s a look at the current Heisman Trophy odds following conference championship weekend.
Travis HunterCB/WR, In Colorado: -2500
Hunter and the Buffaloes didn’t qualify for the Big 12 Championship Game, meaning the standout was idle this weekend while his top competition — Ashton Jeanty and Dillon Gabriel — both got a chance to shine and impress Heisman voters one last time.
Hunter did everything he could to close out college football’s top prize in Colorado’s regular season finale. He finished with 10 receptions for 116 yards and three touchdowns on offense, while adding another interception — his fourth of the season — in the Buffaloes’ dominant 52-0 victory over Oklahoma State.
“Travis won the Heisman today with his play,” Colorado coach Deion Sanders said after the game.
Hunter has now compiled 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns, passing Nelson Spruce for the most by a Colorado wide receiver in a single season.
