The loss dropped Buffalo to two games behind the Chiefs in the race to finish the AFC, while the Rams showed that they can be a dangerous team if they somehow sneak into the finals.

Stick a fork in the New York Jets, as they failed to reach the postseason for the 14th consecutive year, the longest drought in the NFL. Another runner, the Chicago Bears, looked tired under interim coach Thomas Brown in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, who ended up looking like the dominant team most NFL viewers expected at the start of the season.
