American Airlines plane returns to airport after ‘possible maintenance issue’
An American Airlines flight was forced to turn around and return to Chicago airport after a “possible maintenance issue,” the airline reported on Sunday.
American Airlines flight 1047 was departing from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Las Vegas when the incident occurred, said a spokesperson for American Airlines.
“Flight 1047 returned to ORD to fix the problem,” the spokesman said. “The plane landed safely and he took a taxi until he got to the gate.”
The airline did not immediately provide details about the potential maintenance issue.
