Anti-Israel protesters attempt to block the route of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Anti-Israel protesters with “Free Palestine” signs descended on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day display in New York City on Thursday, with police clearing those who tried to block the aisle.
One group of protesters held Palestinian flags and unfurled a banner that read, “Don’t celebrate genocide!” in the middle of the street as a parade led by Ronald McDonald’s balloon descended on W. 55th Street and Sixth Avenue.
Footage shows NYPD officers breaking up the protest and detaining many protesters so the demonstration can continue without a hitch. Some protesters were seen walking away while others who refused to move were dragged or taken down and handcuffed.
Protesters can be heard shouting “Free Palestine” as police disperse the group on video from the scene. The crowd that filled the streets watching the demonstration could be heard shouting at the protesters.

Last year, anti-Israel protesters filled the route, some singing and chanting, “Palestine will be free” and others sticking their hands on the parade route and dousing themselves in red liquid to show blood.

PROTESTERS AGAINST ISRAEL ARE ARRESTED IN CHILDREN’S OFFICE BUILDING
New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday warned protesters not to redouble their efforts.
“I want to take the time to tell those students who are believed to be disrupting the show that it will not happen,” said Adams in a press conference.

Hamas escalated the war in Gaza when its forces invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killed about 1,200 people, most of whom were civilians, and kidnapped about 250 people. About 100 hostages are still inside Gaza, and at least a third of them are dead.
