Google removes negative review of Pennsylvania McDonald’s where UnitedHealthcare killer was arrested
Google is removing negative comments posted about a McDonald’s location in Pennsylvania where a suspect was arrested in the killing of UnitedHealthcare executive Brian Thompson.
A series of one-star reviews directed at the center came quickly Monday after Luigi Mangione, 26, a former Ivy League student, was arrested and charged with Thompson’s murder in New York City. Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona after an employee recognized him.
Hundreds of negative reviews were reported to have been posted under Google local reviews before Google took action. There are still a few left from Tuesday.
SOCIAL MEDIA USERS LAUGH AT UNITEDHEALTHCARE CEO’S KILL
FOX Business has reached out to McDonald’s for comment.
“These updates violate our policies and have been removed,” a Google spokesperson told FOX Business.
According to Google policies, contributed content should be based on what the reviewer feels about the site. Google said it monitors 24/7 for any content that violates its policy and that it has put additional protections on the profile to prevent further off-topic reviews.
Only three negative reviews from the past 24 hours are still showing, even though each of them has earned hundreds of “cheap” reactions.

“Don’t stop here if you’re an American hero. They’ll sell you out,” said one Monday. The review received 338 reactions.
This comes as many social media users continue to mock Thompson’s killing and express their frustration with the US health care system.

“If you shoot one man in the street it’s murder. If you kill thousands of people in hospitals by taking away their ability to get treatment you’re a businessman,” wrote a user on X.
Still, some users expressed their sympathy for Thompson and his family. Some were even disgusted by the praise the killer seemed to be receiving online.
“The worst part of the video showing the death of the United Healthcare CEO is now that his children will have their father’s death on the internet forever. Sometimes the internet is just so bad,” said user X.
Another said, “What is wrong with America? The CEO of United Healthcare is murdered. And some thoughtless souls write: ‘Thoughts and condolences to the family. Unfortunately my condolences are out of line.’
