Challenge: Slow Ride, High Profit
Like many growing companies, GTreasury has done some training; however, it was manual and inconsistent. This has led to significant challenges, such as slow customer response times, difficult remote training, and high turnover for the Global Support Analysts team. And, since new hires take 6–9 months to onboard, this was time the business could not afford to waste.
Joining GTreasury in 2021, Riyaz Adamjee, GTreasury’s VP of Global Learning Services, was tasked with building a new learning strategy “from the ground up.”
Realizing the need to introduce a formal learning approach, Riyaz decided to invest in a Learning Management System (LMS). With the LMS playing a key role, the goal was to standardize and streamline learning to ensure that all new hires are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to perform their jobs effectively.
The Solution: Getting People to Produce “Really, Really Fast”
Leading the charge, Riyaz and the Global Learning Services team evaluated GTreasury’s learning with LearnUpon as their LMS of choice.
Using LearnUpon, the team created a complex, global compliance and training program that was unique to each of its employees and, most importantly, made the entire learning process faster and more efficient than ever before.

From 6-9 Months to 3 Weeks
At GTreasury, the results have been excellent. For all employees, the new hiring process has been reduced from 1-2 weeks to 2 days, and in some cases, less than a day.
To achieve these results, Riyaz and his team first optimized GTreasury’s HR process. Rather than being delivered face-to-face, the orientation is now available through on-demand courses on LearnUpon, alongside a one-hour region-specific Q&A session.
Then, on the ride, the team realized that a one-size-fits-all approach wasn’t going to cut it. Instead, using LearnUpon Teams and learning methods, they divided each task based on role. This means that when a new hire joins GTreasury, they are automatically enrolled in courses tailored to them and their role, providing them with the skills and resources they need to succeed.
This strategy has had a huge impact on the GTreasury Support team. Initially he wanted to reduce the onboarding time from 6–9 months to 3–6, using LearnUpon, Riyaz and his team reduced it to only 3 weeks. The cost savings were also huge. Previously, it cost $48,000 to onboard a new hire, and with LearnUpon, it’s now down to $4,800, saving GTreasury over $900,000 across all 21 hires.
Not only does GTreasury save time and money, but it also serves its customers better. Since its Support team has been successfully on-boarded, it has a greater ability to handle complex tickets faster, and this has led to a 50% reduction in the team’s average time to close a ticket.
Easy Handling, Seamless Learning
To make everything “even easier,” Riyaz said, is LearnUpon’s out-of-the-box integration with GTreasury’s HRIS, BambooHR. Instead of adding each employee to LearnUpon individually, new hires are automatically created and invited to LearnUpon once they’re added to BambooHR—no administrative effort required.
Added to this is the ease of use of LearnUpon. When invited to the platform, Riyaz makes sure every employee can easily access and take the learning they need—something that saves his team a lot of time and effort.
When we present the platform [LearnUpon]we do not train. We don’t train ourselves how to use them; let’s just let them do their thing. And, I would say, 95% of people never have a problem with it. The operator was very nice.
