The US president-elect Donald Trump gives the US Middle East policy to people who “see God as some kind of cosmic real estate agent”, said Stephen Zunes, chairman of the Middle East Studies Program at the University of San Francisco.
Regarding Trump’s “probably troubling” threat that “there will be all the bad things he has to pay for in the Middle East” regarding Israeli hostages, Zunes tells host Steve Clemons that the situation for the Palestinians could be even worse.
But at least Trump “can’t pretend he’s trying to reach equality, just peace” like his predecessors, Zunes said.
