“Before and after praying,” Kramer, 40, wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, November 12, alongside photos of Roman’s room before and after his birth. “On the eve of Roman’s first birthday I feel all the emotions but mostly I am very grateful. About 8 weeks into my pregnancy I started bleeding heavily. I started to cry as I knew what was happening as I had many miscarriages in the past. I was shocked when we saw a heartbeat later that day.”
He continued, “I was told that I have subchronic [sic] bleeding and because the bleeding was heavier than the baby at the time, there was a 50/50 chance that I would miscarry.”
Kramer said she is “very grateful” for her husband, Allan Russellto feel the “good side of it” while i One Tree Hill alum admitted “all I knew was I was going to lose the baby.”

“For the next 8-10 weeks I see blood and for anyone who has had an abortion you know it’s an uncomfortable thing to see when you’re pregnant. But the bleeding stopped and Roman continued to grow,” he wrote. “Then there was a fibroid that kept growing and we were told it could interfere with the placenta. Every day I prayed that this sweet child would continue to beat me.”
Kramer explained that when he wrote prayers and scriptures on the foundation of their home, he thought about “continuing to beat the child.” (In Per Kramer’s Instagram post, the phrase “Keep hitting baby” was written on a pillar near the heart.)
“I’ve had many miscarriages and it’s not over. I got pregnant the first month we tried,” she continued. “I hope no matter how many years, no matter how long it takes, no matter if you lose, you will not lose hope. I know it’s not easy though and I’m sorry… but I can promise you that God and their heartbeat will always find a way.”

Kramer and Russell, 43, welcomed son Roman in November 2023. “Allan and I are very happy and grateful to announce the birth of our son, Roman James Russell. We feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to create something so special together,” the two said in a statement People at that time. “The name Roman was not inspired by anyone, it’s a strong name that we both like, but James (his middle name) was both of our Grandfathers’ names, so it was a nod to them.”
Alongside Roman, Kramer is mother to daughter Jolie, 8, and son Jace, 5, with her ex-husband. Mike Caussin. Women married from 2015 to 2021.
