Kelly Stafford Used to Feel ‘Dirty’ for Using Her Husband’s Name to Build Clout

But during their friendship and relationship, Kelly was afraid to bring those two worlds together for fear of what people might think.
“For a long time, I did not want to take advantage of any platform that was given to me because of my marriage to my husband,” she said. “I felt like it wasn’t my place. I felt dirty doing that.”
All these years later, the concept of WAG – an abbreviation for “wives and girlfriends,” which is often used to describe people in relationships with athletes – has changed a lot.
“Women [now have] businesses and we have this big platform,” said Kelly. “It’s amazing to watch.”

“I was really tired and very critical of myself about a lot of things — as a parent, as a wife, and my appearance,” Kelly told Kramer, 40, on the Sunday, November 17, episode of Kramer’s “Whine Down” podcast.
“I just wanted to create a place where we talk about all of our best things,” added Kelly. “Maybe we’ll mix it up and talk about other things we didn’t succeed so we don’t see ourselves alone when we fail.”
