Meet Natalie Harp, Trump’s ‘valuable resource’ that lawmakers say is ‘critical’ to his performance

INTERMEDIATE: President-elect Trump’s aide Natalie Harp said “confidentiality, speed, accuracy, and flexibility” are essential to the president’s delivery, as lawmakers in contact with him told Fox News Digital that he is “serious” about making sure Congress is “real.” partner” for incoming management.

Harp worked alongside the president-elect during his campaign and transition, beginning in 2022. The 33-year-old is expected to join the president at the White House for his second term, and sources in the Trump Transition Team say he will have a “significant role” in the White House.

But according to several top lawmakers, governors and members of Trump’s team, Harp is more than just an assistant.

Sources close to the transition team told Fox News Digital that Harp has been an “invaluable resource” in getting information to the president “at the right time.”

Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump Transition Team and incoming White House communications director, told Fox News Digital that Harp is “a trusted and respected member of President Trump’s team.”

“And he’s a big reason why his surgery was as successful as it was,” Cheung told Fox News Digital. “His work ethic and commitment to helping President Trump achieve his historic victory is second to none.”

“I believe he is an extra set of eyes and ears for President Trump,” Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wy., told Fox News Digital. “Every time I’ve been with him, he’s been around.”

Barrasso explained that Harp is in regular contact with other senators and members of Congress via text message.

“I send him a message when I need to get to the president,” explained Barrasso. “If she doesn’t pick up the phone, I know I’m going to Natalie, and she gets the message.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham, RS.C., also said he goes to Harp to stop by anything from “golf to very serious foreign policy issues.”

“You want to get something out of President Trump, he’s the person you can talk to,” Graham told Fox News Digital. “I trust Natalie to keep anything I talk about with President Trump confidential. She’s very dedicated to the president — she’s honest and always professional and always polite.”

Graham added: “She will respond quickly to requests from members of parliament – I have heard that from others – and I feel that when I communicate with Natalie, I speak honestly.”

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Harp praised the president for “putting his time into building a network of allies, in Congress, the media and business, that is unmatched.” He said those relationships had “deep roots” and made them accessible.

“Phone and text communication is always open,” Harp said.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster told Fox News Digital that he has worked with Harp directly “many times.”

“He’s a consummate professional – very diligent, direct and honest,” McMaster said. “He has and will continue to serve President Trump and our country well.”

Harp created a “mobile office” for the president during the campaign, telling Fox News Digital that he did so because the president wanted to remain “accessible.”

“Breaking news doesn’t matter where you are. That’s how our mobile office started,” Harp said. “Many times, the president wants to express his thoughts on paper, so I will take the order, print it, and then work on it until he has the right words. The truth of the virus.”

Harp said he has an idea for a portable printer to “speed up the process,” noting that printers are “not always available” on the golf course or on the road.

And Harp said the setup is “how they get broken information that we can act on, in real time, and vice versa.”

Harp told Fox News Digital that he stays in touch with that network of allies, sending news clips and even voting members of Congress on timely issues and legislation.

“He can vote in a matter of minutes,” Harp said.

Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital that Harp “keeps us informed” on Capitol Hill.

“If you want Congress to be a true partner to the next president, it’s important to share information,” Jackson told Fox News Digital. “Natalie is instrumental in making sure members of Congress feel like they are part of the president’s team.”

But in working for the president, Harp said “privacy, speed, accuracy, and flexibility” are “the nature of the job.”

“The president deserves nothing less,” Harp told Fox News Digital. “Yes, he works 24/7, but he never feels like he’s driving or pushing us to work hard. Instead, he encourages us to be more, and do more, because he sets an example himself.”

When asked what kind of information Harp brings to the president or shares with his allies, he said, “It depends.”

“When the witches were tried, I researched what was written by legal experts and academics about the cases. When we went out campaigning, I monitored the reviews to see which parts of the president’s messages resonated well,” he explained. “I have a huge database of websites that I go from. Sometimes I go back, I look at the top articles and, if I see one on an issue that the president has been talking about or is interested in, I grab it. .”

Harp accompanied the president throughout the campaign, spent days in court as he fought pending charges against him, and was with him during both assassination attempts in July in Butler, Pennsylvania, and in September at the Trump International Golf Course in Palm Beach, Florida.

“We share a deep faith in God, but now, the ‘miracle’ we not only learned about, but experienced, not once but twice,” said Harp. “Some have said they saw a ‘changed’ Donald Trump after two assassination attempts. I disagree. These gut-wrenching incidents did not leave him a different person, but they revealed to the world what kind of person he was.”

Harp said that is “the same misunderstanding that the 2024 presidential election is about the return of Donald Trump.”

Harp studied business finance at Point Loma University and received a Masters of Business Administration from Liberty University.

Harp, who is battling stage 2 bone cancer, credits Trump’s 2018 “Right to Try” law with saving his life. The measure allows terminally ill patients to receive drug therapy that has not yet been fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

Harp wrote an op-ed in 2019 about her experience with Right to Try, which went viral. She appeared on “Fox & Friends” to share her story in June 2019. After her appearance, Trump tweeted, “Proud of Natalie!” and invited him on stage at his next event, in Washington DC, at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference, where he called him a “Good Samaritan.”

“Donald Trump is not just a man who believes in miracles, he helps make them happen,” Harp told Fox News Digital.

Barrasso, who is a physician, echoed Harp’s comments about Right to Try, calling it a “huge success” for the law.

“He probably wouldn’t have been able to live,” said Barrasso. “The fact that he’s still with us is a miracle in itself, and he wants to spend every day thanking God for what he has, and he’s doing bad, bad things with President Trump.”

Harp later joined Trump’s 2020 presidential advisory board and spoke at the 2020 Republican National Convention.

“He keeps everybody in a really good mood, and more importantly, he keeps the president in a really good mood, and I think that’s been key to his success throughout the campaign,” Rep. Ronny Jackson told Fox News Digital. “As a doctor, from a psychological point of view, when you are around happy people, laughing, smiling, it makes you feel better too – that’s human nature – and I think it’s important to be someone like Natalie, who never feels down about anything.”
