Muscogee County Schools will have a new principal if the board OKs recommendations next week
A Columbus school will have a familiar face as a new principal if the Muscogee County School District board approves a superintendent recommendation next week.
Elizabeth Lester, assistant principal at Blanchard Elementary School for the past five years, has been nominated for a promotion by MCSD Superintendent David Lewis.
The board is scheduled to vote on the recommendation during its Nov. 18 meeting.
Lester will replace Stephanie Dalton-Faulk, who last month was promoted to MCSD school superintendent, replacing the retired Susan Jones.

Lester has been a teacher for 32 years, all at MCSD. Prior to joining Blanchard, he had:

Third grade teacher at Midland (2003-07) and Eagle Ridge Academy (2007-08)

All of Lester’s education was also local.
After graduating from Shaw High School (1986), he received three degrees from Columbus State University: a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education (1992), a master’s degree in early childhood education (2002) and a professional degree in educational leadership (2016). ). He also received teacher support and training accreditation from MCSD (2018).
