Turner remembered finding ways to not say goodbye to Declan and his iconic facial hair.

“I was making excuses for the runner Dominic [Treadwell-Collins]. I was like, ‘I need to keep this mustache for a few weeks because we’re re-rooting.’ He said, ‘Okay, maybe a week or so.’ And of course we did the regrowth,” he recalled. But I remember at the time thinking, ‘I really don’t want to end this.’ And when the regrowth was done, I think I kept it for another week when I didn’t need it.”
