The gunfire at Tuskegee University’s 100th homecoming was caught on video

The gunfire near the Tuskegee University campus in Alabama was captured on video and posted on social media Sunday morning.

In a video posted to X, people can be seen ducking behind a car while gunshots are heard in the background.

“Oh my god,” said another.

“Get down, get down,” said another.

A spokesperson for Tuskegee University confirmed to Fox News Digital that a shooting occurred at the school early Sunday morning, “resulting in the killing of an individual not on campus.”

“The person’s parents have been notified. Several others, including students from Tuskegee University, were injured and are being treated at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika and Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery,” the statement continued. “Emergency personnel, along with the agency and local law enforcement, have secured the scene. The Alabama Bureau of Investigations is conducting an ongoing investigation.”

“The university is in the process of completing student accountability and informing parents,” the spokesperson added. “Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.”

Tuskegee was celebrating its centennial this weekend, according to the university’s website.
