Trader Joe’s is dropping a new limited edition item that has already gone viral

This holiday season Trader Joe’s has a new tote bag.

The new, limited edition stand-up collapsible grocery bag retails for $3.99 each and is already living up to the hype of its predecessors.

“Very good,” said TikTok user @_jessiechoi in a video posted on social media. “A lot of things go in here.”

She then shows that she has an egg carton with a bunch of other groceries before giving a wide picture of how big and sturdy the bag is.

“You have places to go, people to see, and, most likely, things to bring,” the Trader Joe’s website says of the bag. “That’s one of the reasons we’ve put so much effort into creating fun and functional reusable bags over the years (and inadvertently created a few Mini Totes along the way…)”

The bag stands up on its own, helping things stay inside cars, buses and even bike baskets, the retailer said. It is then folded up for storage when not in use.

Along with the TikTok video, news of the bag is also doing the rounds on Reddit and Instagram.

“A great collapsible bag perfect for keeping all your groceries safe,” said Trader Joe’s fan page @trader_joes_treasure_hunt on Instagram. “Will you buy or deny!?”

The bag was made for Trader Joe’s “by an expert tote maker in Vietnam,” the company said.

Trader Joe’s told FOX Business that the bag was introduced last month, and its size allows it to carry a six-liter capacity.

Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s had a couple of bags re-enter online: small tote bags and padded tote bags. It wasn’t unusual to see bags on websites selling things that were much more than people paid for them.

This was the year that social media and the internet helped market many hot ticket items.
