Vance says Harris will not be able to deal with Putin, Xi if he ‘runs’ from the US media

Republican vice president Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, argued Sunday that Vice President Harris can’t be trusted to negotiate with the world if he’s already “running on America’s friendly media.”

At a meeting in Sanford, North Carolina, Vance recalled to the crowd on the battlefield talking about his conversation with his partner, former President Trump, after the second assassination attempt in West Palm Beach, Florida. An armed gunman is accused of lying in wait near Trump’s golf course with a gun before a Secret Service agent opened fire, preventing potential bloodshed.

It happened just weeks after Trump survived a gunfight at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“After the second assassination attempt, the president called me and told me what had just happened. And, you know, I said, ‘Oh, my God, sir, are you OK? Obviously, you’re physically fine. But, you know, that’s a sad thing that’s happening,'” Vance told the crowd. “It’s the second assassination attempt in as many months. And you say, ‘Yeah, I’m fine. Well, I’m upset, because I was going to make a birdie on the sixth hole and the Secret Service wouldn’t let me finish.’

“And, you know, it occurred to me then that’s the kind of person you want in the Oval Office when the world goes to hell, because you never know how a person will react under a moment of crisis until the world goes to hell. you can see their response under that difficult moment,” Vance said.

Vance contrasted that connection with Trump versus Harris “coming out of the friendly American media.”

“Can we trust that person to talk to Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia? Xi Jinping, the leader of China? No, we can’t, because he can’t even talk to the friendly American media,” Vance said. “He sure as hell can negotiate on our behalf on the world stage.”

“But you know who to trust?” he added. “The boy who tried to kill again went back to work the next day.”

While Harris was conducting interviews, Vance said the Democratic nominee was helping Trump’s campaign.

“It’s funny watching Kamala Harris, you know, doing these interviews,” Vance said. “And, you know, on the one hand, obviously, I don’t agree with Kamala Harris on all of these issues. I criticize her every day on the campaign trail. I criticize what she’s done in the United States of America. And then, on the other hand, she goes to do an interview, and I think she’s taking almost all of our votes. 100,000.

Vance referred to Harris’ interview on “The View” when asked what he would have done differently in the last four years of President Biden’s administration, to which he replied that “nothing comes to mind.” The Republican vice presidential nominee said Harris’ interview was “a gift.”

“Since he has these slogans about how he’s going to do something in the next four years that he hasn’t done since he’s once again the sitting vice president, he’s giving us the gift of going out and doing interviews,” Vance said. -Kamala Harris, sometimes they don’t ask. They ask him simple questions, and he still wraps them up. And the meaning, you know, in the Kamala Harris gaffe is when she accidentally tells the truth because sometimes she does.”

“What kind of person admits that he would not have done anything different in the last four years? How will he solve the problems caused by the policy of the last four years?” Vance said. “So for the people of North Carolina, the choice is very clear. It’s a choice between more of the same, higher grocery prices, more affordable housing, open borders, more fentanyl in our communities. Or the choice is, do we take this country in another direction Do we go back to peace and prosperity? Are we taking it back to the leadership of Donald J. Trump?”

“You can ask Kamala Harris, the first date was 1,400 days ago,” he said. “What have you been doing for the last four years? Stop talking about your job and start doing your job.”
