‘Who thought this was a good idea?’

Vice President Kamala Harris’ first video to her supporters after the election stunned social media users on Tuesday.

The video, shared by the official account of the Democratic Party, showed Harris speaking directly to supporters who were upset about the recent election.

“I just have to remind you, don’t let anyone take your power away. You have the same power you did before Nov. 5, and you have the same purpose that you had. And you have the same ability to engage. and inspire. So don’t let anyone or any situation take your power away from you,” said Harris.

Many X users were buzzing about Harris’s appearance in the video, commenting that there seemed to be something “off” about the vice president and expressing a shared surprise publicly.

“I’m not sure you guys want to expand on this. There’s something, ummmm, off about the vice president,” joked Fox News contributor Joe Concha.

OutKick writer Mary Katharine Ham wrote, “When you give your phone to someone to verify your social media posts when you’re having a hard time, you want to give it to someone who loves you.”

National Review Online Senior Writer Dan McLaughlin responded, “No video like this has ever been released by a politician who isn’t hated by his staff.”

“The joy is over,” concluded the Prince William County Republican Committee.

Former Trump White House adviser Ben Williamson said, “I read a 5,000-word article on how this release was approved.”

“They didn’t let him go on @joerogan but they let him do this,” American Principles Project president Terry Schilling posted with a face emoji.

“Who thought this was a good idea? Who is this? What is this? What do you even say? Once again, I will repeat that we are ruled by idiots,” Atlantic contributing writer Tyler Austin Harper wondered.

National Review senior political correspondent Jim Geraghty wrote, “Without the, er, vibe of burning, the ‘don’t let anyone take your power’ message is probably not appropriate as a theme during a peaceful transition of power.”

This video is reported to have come from a phone call Harris took with donors and volunteers earlier today where he talked about his election loss for the first time since endorsing President Donald Trump.

“The result of this election is obviously not what we wanted. It’s not what we worked hard for. But I’m proud of the race we ran, and your role in this was critical. What we did in 107 days was unprecedented,” said Harris.

Harris has been out of sight since the election and has been visiting Hawaii with second-in-command Doug Emhoff since last week.
