WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s team said it reached an agreement on Tuesday with the Justice Department that will allow it to submit names for a database audit and security clearance, needed to access classified information.
Trump’s team last week signed a separate agreement allowing direct communications with government agencies and access to documents, but had delayed signing an agreement with the Justice Department while negotiations continued.
The agreement with the Department of Justice “helps our teams sitting on the ground in the agency get the information they need to prepare for the leadership of federal agencies and departments,” Trump’s transition team said in a statement.

“This agreement with the Department of Justice will ensure that President Trump and his team are ready on Day 1 to begin implementing the America First Agenda supported by the majority of our nation on Election Day,” Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, said in a statement.
Trump takes office on Jan. 20.
An official of the Ministry of Justice confirmed that the document was signed.
The long delay in signing the accords after the November 5 election has raised concerns among some critics about possible hiccups in government operations or conflicts of interest.
